Collaboration is cooperative group work – and is focused on different structures, i.e. Think Pair Share, Circle Time, Jigsaw groups.
As well, there is now the additional opportunity to develop virtual groups.  With learning management systems, and the likes of Google docs, students can share virtually anywhere at anytime.  Added to this is the augmented reality of QR codes, where students can share virtual blogs via real pathways using apps such as Aurasma or Layar.
Collaboration is consistently seen as one of the ‘soft’ skills necessary for success in a wide range of careers.  It develops capacity in so many areas and emphasises the value of positive relationshipsCollaborating with others is a skill that needs lots of opportunities to refine so we can flourish.
